Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ for short) is primarily ground fighting. Choke and leverage techniques are used to force the opponent to submit. You can use BJJ for self-defense, practice it as a tournament sport, or simply consider it the perfect exercise and fitness program. The training promotes flexibility, endurance and fighting spirit in particular. Practical skills are developed that help one survive a combat situation on the ground. This martial art is ideal for women in particular, as it is not based on brute force, but was specially designed for fighting larger and stronger opponents.

By the way, BJJ is an ultimate workout that uses every muscle in the body. Due to its complexity, it also challenges the head and trains tactical understanding.

In BJJ there is a grading system in the form of belts. But on the mat, everyone is the same. Here men and women of all experience levels train together and learn from and with each other. The training is characterized by fairness and respect. It is not uncommon for a special spirit of cohesion and friendship to develop in BJJ groups.

The road to success in this sport requires patience, but it's worth it! Everyone trains at their own pace and finds their personal rhythm. The team always stands together - the important thing is the first step...

Why should women train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? This question is asked again and again and it is quite easy to answer: On the one hand, this sport is ideal for self-defence, on the other hand, through regular training you learn to deal better with your body and to understand it. As an additional positive effect, the body changes into a fit whole without consciously working towards it. After some time, the content of the training will cause a more self-confident and physically healthy appearance.

 

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art that does NOT involve punching or kicking. Rather, it is about pure self-defense.
